My art today is the convergence of my experiences, the influence of my relationships and culture. As an adult I have developed an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and understanding of the world I live in.
The materials I choose will often determine the outcome of my work, the tactility of a material often being at the fore in my decision-making. I have a deep sense of care and concern for our environment that is underpinned by an excitement of the creative possibilities of working with natural or recycled materials.
I work deliberately, consciously employing both traditional and innovative techniques to recreate new textures and forms.
I have found that being open to the occurrence of accidents and experiments within my art making process have often led to a greater personal connection to my work.
Being in a stage of development and growth I see my work as inventories of fragments yet to be fully explored and realized.
